Post Never thought I would make this post....

Well I am no longer a Lightning owner everyone. I sold it on Friday. Before I go on any more with this post I am just going to say this isn't one of those lame posts you see from a bunch of other people saying I sold it because of family issues, money issues or I needed to for whatever reason. Only to have a new vehicle in 2 weeks. No excuses I just thought it was time for a change. I got a fair price for my truck. No where near what I had into but you can never expect that.
My plans are to search for a new project or garage queen. A 2000 Cobra R is at the top of my list. Also on the list is an 03-04 Cobra, C5 Z06, CTS-V, 300 SRT8 and a few others. If I can find a LOW mileage 00' R to stick in the garage and take out a few times that is what I will get. Otherwise one of the others will be purchased and modded. Any opinions are appreciated there. I will stick around and may own a Lightning again someday. If I could find a blown motor truck for a fair price I would buy it in a heart beat. -Mat-

Well if you sold the L for a car might as well get something nice. The Ferrari Enzo is what's at the top of my list.

Mat, Sorry to see you sell your ride, with all that you have invested (twice) and gone through, however, like you said it wasn't a hardship sale so I really can't feel bad, your choices for a toy are sweet, my wife is looking at a Cadillac CTS-V for her next ride, a newer cobra or Vette would be a nice buildup platform, Cobra R while more difficult to find would be a nice summer driver, whatever you decide on I wish you all the best. Mat,
Were you driving an F-350 on I-95(Delaware)this past Friday around 3:30?? If so, you went flying by me, near the truck stop. I was going to run you down in my mazda but thought you would think I was a ricer!!

Sorry to see you let it go. I enjoyed the day we spent at Atco last fall. You have set the mark for the fastest Lightning in Ct.(I think) and I am going to be pointing to your times to validate my forum name. I wish you were staying in the game, but I know a new project will be exiting.

I know where you are comming from here Matt. I have had some interest in selling mine over the last month or two. I almost wanna say i have gone overboard on the mods and dont enjoy the truck like i use to. I find it sitting more and more.

Matt if you dont mind would you droip me a email so i could ask you about some things about selling a built truck like yours. Blwntrk@charter.net

That is exactly how I felt, I went to far. The roll bar was the biggest mistake I EVER made. This crappy weather up here was a big factor too. I built the truck to drive it. But found it sitting in the garage too much. That is why the car at the top of my list is an 00' R which I won't mind seeing sit in the garage. I will drop you an email tomorrow. -Mat-

You know my take on this --> "Once a L Brother, ALWAYS a L Brother" <--, BEST OF LUCK on making the Choice, (you got some good ones too I might add)

just as LR2 just said, I have to admit all the fun's been taking away from me too lately What can I say over 25K in new motors and I'm still going no where quick, the frigging thing cost me $43,128.16 (35K + 7K interest on the 6yr loan) prob 6K in mods the first 4 years, and ahh ya maybe it's worth 25K on a good day (it does still have under 15K)
WHAT ARE WE FLUCKING CWAZY

For what ??? tommorow we want more (&@%$(@$%(@$%@(*$%(@$
Schitt I might as well sell it now while it has 1K on it and it doesnt take me for another 70K *&(@$%(&@$^*%@(*&$^%@*(&$%@*($^%@($^%(@$^%@($&^%@( $&^%@($^@%$(@^%$^@%$(@^$%@*(^$%@($%($$

BEST OF LUCK MAT, I need to go to bed.........

Don't feel too bad about selling the truck. I sold mine recently and bought a 74 Corvette with a 4 speed. I've got plans for it but will probably just drive it over the summer and build it up over the winter. I'm enjoying myself for the time being. Find yourself another project and have fun building and driving it.

Please elaborate on the negatives of installing a roll bar. I am at the point where I am considering one as well as a trailer for longer trips.

AC Cobra would be a fun garage queen and build.

An NSX would be a pretty fun weekend warrior too but who am I kidding this is a Ford forum.

Right there with you guys. Bought my new toy in November, so far just headers, xpipe, catback and intake.

With just the catback went 12.5@113.6, still miss the lightning alot, but it's nice having a turnkey what I think will be an 11 second NA car.

Man , you guys have me thinking twice about a cage. I would like one to be legal to run but I think I may hate it because it would take away from the feel of the street truck.
