Cool

Got an appointment in 1/2 hour to put 2/2 chamber Flowmasters on mine. Had them on my '99 L and I miss the rumble. If I remember right the passenger side one was offset-inlet,center-outlet and the drivers side one was center-inlet,center-outlet. They fit in there by putting them at an angle on their side like so: // . I'll confirm this later when I get back. As far as a single Flow w/dual in, dual out one member tried it and it made a loud blowing noise under WOT. Best to use 2.

Unhappy

The guy that made my appointment didn't know they were out of one of them and I didn't leave my phone number so I wasted a couple hours. Remade my appointment for tuesday. BTW, he did confirm the use of one offset-in, center-out and one center-in, center-out muffler(2.5").

Stopped by the exhaust shop on the way home tonight. I wanted to find out what he is putting on Bolts. I asked about Bassani, Borla and Flowmasters. I also asked about using two Flowmasters. The recommendation I got was to use a Magnaflow 2/2 with 3” from the cats back. This guy has done several of my trucks so I trust what he tells me. I had him put the same thing on my last truck and it sounded sweet. He also does a lot of Vipers. People bring them from all over the place to get them done. I don’t know what he puts on them but the Viper guys love him for his work. 2 cents worth

Question Exhaust Question

I am wanting to improve the sound of my truck. I am thinking of getting just a flowmaster muffler (not the cat back). I have noticed everyone saying that you don't see much of an improvement from the full setup.

Would two singl in single out be better than on dual in dual out?

What about gibson exhaust. I know they dont make a dual inlet muffler, but the guy at gibson said if you Y the pipe directly before the muffler, that it would sound great. I have heard quite a few gibson exhaust systems on trucks and they sound great!

Question: There has been some discussion about the merits of aftermarket exhaust.

What I was curious about is if any of you who have replaced the stock (log) manifolds with aftermarket headers have any access to a flowbench to see what the stock manifolds will flow. Granted a good equal length design may have more scavenging, but I was curious about raw flow numbers.

Has anyone done this? Or would anyone that has a set be willing to for the sake of information exchange (and to settle the debate once and for all)?
