Question Towing with your lightning

Does anyone do any towing with their 99 or 00 lightning?

I have a 21 foot Ski Natique. I pulled the boat to the river last weekend, and I found that I definitely need some more support in the rear. The rear sinks quite a bit when the trailer is hooked up. The tongue weight on my trailer is at least 500#.

Does anyone have any helpful advice here?

If you have bought the airlift or other comparable system, what was the price, where did you purchase, and what are the part numbers?

Cool

I towed a 23 foot Alley Cat 600 miles with no problems. Can you adjust your boat back to drop the tongue weight a little?

LSTORM-

How uch does your bought weigh? If I had to guess, I would say between 3500-4000lbs. Generally you want about 10% of that at the tongue. I tow a 2500 lb. boat and have about only 125 lbs. at the tongue. 5% works great with this truck. Sounds to mee like you have way too much weight up front. Don't know how adjustable your trailer is, but you probably need to adjust your boat back. I would recommend no more than 250 lbs. at the tongue with your boat.

Hope that helps...Alex
