Unhappy * More BAD News *

Well, it seems as though bad luck comes in swarms. I went into the doctor for surgery last week to remove a suspicious lump in my neck. They removed a lymph node and when the pathology report came back, the node tested positive for lymphoma. I go to see the oncologist Monday and we are planning to start chemotherapy that morning. Its really eerie to be only 23 and have cancer already.
Anyway, I hope that I wont have to sell the Lightning although thats a possibility.
The particular variant of lymphoma I have is apparantly very aggressive so its even more of a shock. If there are any cancer survivors on this board, I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks,
Nathan

I was really sorry to read your post, Nathan and can only wish you the best of luck.
Hopefully, they caught it early and can get on it fast as that seems to be, today, the best shot at halting or at least slowing down the process.
As well, there are advances coming out all the time for treatments for various forms of lymphoma so you have got to keep your head up and your spirit as well.

Keep us posted.

Good luck Nathan, there are some great things working for you now, and your age is a very positive factor. I beat a Clark's level 4 Melanoma a few months ago. An airline pilot friend of mine had the same thing, but with lymph node involvement. He underwent extensive chemo, lost lots of weight, totally beat the disease, gained the weight back, is back on flight status, and looks and acts strong as an ox. You can kick this disease's ***. We will be thinking about you, and praying for you. BTW, one our employees had the exact same thing as you, and after chemo, and some bone marrow transplant, has been cancer free for quite some time. She is also healthy as an ox. You will have a positive outcome, but you must fight hard, and always think positively. You can, and will beat this disease!

Good luck Nathan, you are young and strong and have that going for you, keep your spirits up, or let us, your friends and family help you to. and like many have said, research and cures have come so far. my wife and i went through this last week with a "suspicious" lump in her breast. the doctor told us to prepare for chemo. turned out to be beneign, fortunately. you can beat this thing like it was an S-10 with a racing stripe, use your attitude, and let it know it doesn't really stand a chance.

Nathan,

Best wishes and our prayers for you. Keeping a positive attitude is the name of the game.

My sister just got through a bout with cancer, and licked it. It was hard sometimes, but she always saw the bright side of things, and she's doing great now.

Good luck, and keep your eyes on the road ahead.

My mom went thru breast cancer 2 years ago, she did all the reading up on it that she could. She kept her head high and plowed thru it with authority. So far she is fine. There are lots of advancements in treatments today to beat this. Be strong and don't lose your will to win!
All the best.
