I was looking at the Ford emblem and it seems that the blue background is painted on from the back and the "Ford" and the "oval" are recessed. It would be simple to sand out the blue paint from the back side and repaint to whatever color is desired. You be able to glue some carbon fiber on the back as well. I have a spare emblem form a contour and will try it this weekend.

What I have done to all my vechicles is have vinal lettering cut in the oval shape.I usually do the same color of the truck.Then on their computer they should have the ford logo in it.All they have to do is make it the right size and cut it.This way it changes the blue and still says ford.Here are some good color combos Ive used

White oval/mint green Ford/also reversed!!!
white oval/purple Ford
red oval/yellow Ford
all chrome oval /Any color...Looks great

Dont use dark backgrounds like purple or black.It defeats the purpose.You cant really tell its not blue.Many people think it is some expensive job cause it is cut by computer.It looks great while keeping with the factory LOGO Cost me $15 a pop. Any sign shop can do it in 10 minutes
