Question Custom emblem to replace Ford logo

I know I'll probably get flack from everyone about this, but I absolutely have always hated the blue Ford logo. I was looking at my truck this weekend and decided the Ford logo on the tailgate and the front grill has got to go. Has anyone come across an insert, say billet with a custom logo that could be put in place of the Ford logo? If nobody has, then I may have to speak w/one of the machinists at work and see what kind of custom magic I can dream up.

Cool

Pete, I'm w/ on the logo change, not 'cause I hate the blue oval, but I want to add some more pernoality to my L. I was thinking something like Asdeman has on his chromed wheels, just a black oval w/ a lightning bolt in the middle.Or,I'm gonna' get crucified for this one,a black oval w/ a light up lightning bolt in the center.LET THE CRUCIFICTION BEGIN!!!

Hello all..

A friend of mine has a bolt in an oval on his 94 Lightning.. He has it on the front I will ask him where he got it..

And if you are looking for even more flair.. he also had a bolt etched into his driver side window.. Real small.. nothing to flashy..it is pretty cool.. I think they use a sand blaster or something to etch it in..

I do not find the above item that appealing, but somebody might. I hope not!

Thumbs up

Yoda,
Red would look cool on my red. Drop shackles; apparently I have seen 2 part numbers on previous posts. Got the P/N's at home, will email you tonight. I think lets order 2 sets, I definitely want to do mine, we can do them together.

Hitman,
That was exactly what I was thinking a lightning bolt on the emblem. I wasn't thinking a lit up one, I like that idea!

Big Poppa,
Please find out where your friend obtain the bolt logo, that is exactly what I am looking for.

MRBBQMAN,
Thanks for the site address, I'm gonna check and see if they can do a bolt.

Pacecar18,
We are getting close, thanks for the site address

This dosent seem like a ahrd project i ahvint looked at the blue voal up close but ima ssuming itw 2 pieces. You could easily paint the inside blue piece snd stick it back on, ive also seen a ford logo w/ carbon fiber behind it.

I love the Ford logo, and would never take it off. Always loved it. Never crossed my mind to remove it. But to each his own.

I agree Caka. When people see this truck, you want them to know it's a Ford!

Cool

I've seen the 'Stang light up emblem and I don't care for it,it's too glow in the darky for me. I want an actual light. And guys I was planning on the leaving the blue oval on the backside(you know the one everyone gets a good look at )on. I just want a bolt on the front,if anyone comes up w/ one I'll buy one...or two.

I just happen to work at the afore mentioned (ford) place of business. ill see if i can gather some information about how, and where, the oval is made. if im lucky i might even be able to get my hands on some to dissect and play with. we shall see..
maybe a balck oval with a white bolt? or color coordinated for our yellow L friends.

Question

I was looking at the Ford emblem and it seems that the blue background is painted on from the back and the "Ford" and the "oval" are recessed. It would be simple to sand out the blue paint from the back side and repaint to whatever color is desired. You be able to glue some carbon fiber on the back as well. I have a spare emblem form a contour and will try it this weekend.
