Post Prototype Vehicle needed

I contacted autophysics regarding the intakes for the "L"s. They need someone as a prototype in Nevada or Hawaii. If you want to help, E-Mail Darryl R. Lum [drlum@hawaii.rr.com]or visit their site at
http://www.autophysics.com/

I have included the E-Mail from Darryl for your edification.

Mike,

I'd love to work on an F150 Lightning but we need one that we can physically
prototype on, either in Nevada or Hawaii. If you can help us find a
volunteer vehicle it would really speed development.

It typically takes less than 4 weeks from first view of a vehicle before we
have something for pre-production testing.

Our philosophy of intake design is to keep things simple and cost effective
but at the same time utilizing a multiple factor approach to maximum
performance. This means that we don't simply stick a shiny tube in a
vehicle with a filter on it and call it an intake. We develop custom air
boxes and/or heat shields for maximum breathing ability (most air boxes,
even aftermarket ones are undersized) as well as the highest flowing
filters, the straightest shortest path from the base of the filter to the
throttle body, and in most cases are also able to duct cold air directly
from the outside (from the side of the grille or something) to the central
filter core.

Our intakes are designed for real world performance, not just for dyno
testing gimmickry, but for maximum performance when the vehicle is in
motion.

Still, until we actually begin prototyping on an actual F150 Lightning it's
impossible to predetermine what kind of configuration we will use.. we don't
use a cookie cutter approach to intakes and design each one from scratch for
each vehicle.

Thanks,

Darryl

Try to e-mail him tonight. He returned all of my e-mail during the day, today on Sunday!! Did you check out their site? The filter design appears the same as Sal's. I would like to see if they are as good!

If I am not mistaken, the PowerStack IS the filter that Sal uses.

So what we need is a big box and cold air ducting for Sal's filter , right?

After playing email tennis, Autophysics and I finally got a hold of eachother, and it looks like we will be doing some 'testing' this thursday. Maybe we will have to take the Lightning to the track (hope hope), for comparisons. We shall see.

Now I'm confused. If we get the right Power Stack and just stick it into the stock air box are we there, or doesn't the right size fit? Is the same thing as Sal's arrangement approximately available using an Airaid box with a Power Stack? Just wondering because the availability of the Power Stack directly could be pointing the way for frustrated customers to obtain an overall air intake structure similar to Sal's while he is backed up. Dunno if this is a good idea or what.
