Question Question For Those Who Lowered 2" In Rear

Did you feel that an alignment was required or recommended after, and also, do the headlights need to be re-aimed?

The 2 inch drop doesn't affect left to right movement at all, at least not in my humble opinion. So I didn't worry about the alignment. The Head lights seem to be fine also.

just my $.02

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. 99 Lightning, the best of both worlds!

2" drop doesn't bother alignment & is too small to muck much with headlights (although I definitely could see it in the rear view mirrors... wow!). One thing worth considering is the potential change in the long term wear pattern on the rear shocks since the drop moves the range of piston work to another area on the shock shaft. Probably ok, but purists might consider using another, shorter shock with similar valving, especially if the idea is to never haul any significant weight.

Did not perform an alignment afterwards.
Did not adjust headlights, they seem to be fine.

Thanks all!

I wasn't planning on changing the headlights anyway. I find them a little low as they stand now.

Steve, most people installed the AIM 2 " drop shackles. They are 61 dollars delivered and easy to put on. Just make sure you have the "zerk" fitting to the rear. They look and fit better this way. If you want step by step instructions, check the prior posts by searching AIM shackles. If not, e-mail me and I can walk you through it.

colnetek,
Under the search field, look under AIM Shackles. Several members have already posted pictures that will answer your questions. Good Luck

Question

Any idea if lowering the rear has any effect on the towing capacity? Also, what does it do to the ride height in the front?
