Average 13-15 MPG with 50%/50% in-town/freeway. Best I've done is 17 MPG on a long, slow road trip (crowded 2-lane). Worst is <11 MPG in the vicinity of Milan Dragway. There must be some sort of black hole of gasoline there.

 

12mpg city/hiway combined

 

Lousy..... but I don't care.

If I wanted good gas mileage I would have bought a Yugo . Then added laughing gas to make it faster....

I didnt buy the truck for gas mil. if you can't tell, but I get about 11 to 16 mpg.
just depends on how much THROTTLE I give her!

SUMMARY
Total gas from 3/2 to 4/13: 194.2 gal. in 2539 mi.
Avg. gas mileage to date: 13.1 mpg.
Total amount spent on gas: $322.59
Average price paid for premium: $1.66/gal.

ECONOMIC CONCLUSIONS
MSRP of 2000 Lightning: $31,375.00
One month of car insurance: $85.00
One thousand miles' worth of gas: $125.00
Giggling like a schoolgirl during routine trips to the grocery store: PRICELESS.

At 12k miles my milage jumped from 12 to 15 (combined city/highway). No change in driving style, same path to and from work.

I have a 2000 F150 4x4 and I am averaging 15 mpg. I thought the "L"'s would do better.

Did not finish, I did think the "L"'s would do a little better being 2wd and lower. I guess that Super Charger puts a good load on the motor.

 

City sarted at 12 to 12.3 After break in and Airaid and Borla muffler went to 12.8 to 13.1 in LA traffic stuff. Best was a steady 75 mph and 16.5 (with modifications). My wife gets better milage than me. I can't seem to keep it under 100 when entering long freeway onramps. Somehow they always call for full throttle. Has anyone figured out why that is?

 

Neroni: The load is on the right foot to get the noise from the blower to sing it's siren song. If you ain't got it you won't understand it.
Others: During the winter gas period, my average went up to almost 14 mpg. Since Spring Sprang and gas is now better, I am back to around 11.5. See above to Neroni.

I checked my mileage under ideal conditions. No a/c on, windows rolled up, and highway. The only downside was that it was still being broken in with less than 1,000 mile on it. I got 15 mpg. A previous member said checking the mileage of an L was like Pamela Anderson bragging about her SAT scores. I did some checking, and coincidently enough, the numbers are the same.
