Exclamation !!!!help!!!!

Anyone please help first off i have a 02 lightning and i put on some flowmasters the otherday and my truck ran like ****. So i had the guy take the flows off and put my stock one back on. thinking that maybe the mufflers didn't have enough back pressure or to much. so when i put back on my stocks it ran great for alittle while good and strong but on my way to work this morning when i got on the highway and it went into the high gear it started spiting and spudering and felt like it was jumping i don't know why that is then i look down and the check engine light was flashing on and off at me. so please guys help me or if you've ever experienced anything like this before let me know what was wrong.

Go to your local autozone and have them scan the computer for free. That'll get you started down the right path.

The SES light flashing or the OD light on the shifter flashing? I didn't think the SES light flashed. Sounds like a loose connector on the transmission or O2 sensor(s).

I'm not familiar with the Lightnings at all, but I had one towed into my shop today......The kids coil pack on #8 shot up and crushed whatever tube is there (again, sorry don't know the technical term)....there are also some metal flakes in the oil, well what oil is in there....we think he ran it out of oil, he's been racing at the track, and probably mashing the truck everywhere....i have an '05 F-150 so i thought i'd check the forums to see if anyone else had this problem....oh, and he also has an aftermarket exhaust with hollowed out cats and headers.....due to my lack of description, anyone think they have an idea how bad things could be??

The coil pack thing is pretty common. He launched a plug because there is not enough threads in the insert in the head. The metal flakes in the oil is pretty bad. That means something in there is grinding. If you say that it was almost out of oil, then that is more than likely what caused the flakes. IMO that engine is toast.

You need to post this as a new thread. You will get more info. Sounds like your customer blew a plug.
