Unhappy Questions on ground effects

Well I baby my beast and what thanx do I get? Two HUGE scratches on the bottom of the ground effects that house the fog lights.
I was parked in a friend of mines carport(so as not to get dinged on the street by a car dooretc) that sits in an alley, when I leave I come out of the alley and over the cross street and SCREEEEEEECH! I almost cried when I saw it. I am physically sick, the bottom, right under both lights to the end of the housing are scratched, and I mean SCRATCHED! Like no paint. It's awful.
My questions: how much will a new piece(it's the whole bottom) run me? How much do you think it may cost to have it sanded and painted??? I know it will vary on the sand&paint from place to place, just lookin for ball park figure here.
Thanx,I'm gonna go sit and the corner and bang my head on the wall for awhile,

The bumper costs about $350 from Ford.

Atom,Thanx for the condolences,I hope to have wound healed by the end of May.
$350! Good lord! I gotta check on the sand&paint now,350 means no carbon fiber kit,I can't have that! Oh well, back to the corner.

The same thing happened to me. I lowered my 88GT w/Saleen Racecraft suspension and I have to be very careful about where I go with it. That is the major reason I won't lower the truck. It looks like it can be sanded and feathered in, then painted. Don't forget you would need to get a new bumper cover installed and painted. That could get expensive every time you scrape it.

I sympathize- I scraped the hell out of mine at San Antonio rally at some point. Pissed me off, then I had a beer cooled down realised it will happen again and got out the touchup paint...

Not perfect but at least now it is not a big black scraped area on each side.

Many moons ago, I had my lowered 454SS take out a few curbs via the fog lights. It happens, no matter how careful you are. I too have kind of taken a pass on the lowering thing. I only really want to drop my truck 1 inch.....

Talking

Thanx for the kind words guys,I feel a little better now I have decided to sand and paint,I am confident that w/ my artistic back ground I can get my truck to at least a respectable level of of asthetics.If/when i ever put this truck away for good(yeah RIGHT!) then I'll think about flat out changing it.
Now where did I put that black spray paint after I painted the GREY grill. DOH!
