Post Raced a Viper

Had the pleasure of racing a Viper this weekend, it was a red one with white stripes. It was sunday night and not much traffic, we were on a 55mph road, and here comes the Viper with his huge lights and wide body right behind me. First he's tailgating me, then he changes lanes to try and pass me. We are doing about 40-45 mph and side by side when we both unleash the beasts. Believe it or not, I PULLED AHEAD up to about 65 mph. He must have been in shock to see a truck do this, because it looked like he had to pause to change gears. Well once he got going he passed me of course but he never pulled more than a car length away. It was obvious that I was overpowered though, and we both shut down, I was doing about 80mph.

That Viper is such a beautiful car, an awesome combination of muscle and finesse. I'm sure it was a great sight for any of the observers in their cars to see these two muscle cars roaring down the street. I have to wonder if I was running N20 we might have been running side to side the whole way. Man he probably would've dirtied his pants in that case!

This is getting long but as a side note I killed a souped up Honda that had just finished beating an older beat down Camaro on the freeway. He had at least 20 stickers on one side of his car and a checkered flag paint scheme to go along with it. This was a pretty modified little sucker. He passed me and turned on his hazard lights to "tease" me, what an idiot. I passed him so easy at about 100 mph, slowed down to give him another chance, and killed him again at 120 before he shut down. What a joke I thought, he thinks he has a race car because he beats non race cars? Also I got to drive a souped up Integra that was suppossed to be fast it felt more like an overweight motorcyle with a stressed out engine. What a headache, you don't feel any power at all in those things.

Even though the Viper beat me I had much more fun against a real muscle machine.

fakefvc:

Needs more stickers, a bigger wing and definitely two huge exhaust pipes out the back.

LOL, it's nice, but a little to ricey for me. I like the Viper GTS design right now. Clean, and fast looking. The new viper needs to get rid of the wing, and redesign the front end. But hey. 500HP & 500lbs trq

Hey Brimstone,

Are you living my past life? HA HA!

Raced 2 vipers,

1st a new one and was from a light. I did pretty well until about 40 then he had enough and said bye bye. I think aerodynamically my mouth was slowing the L down!

2nd one was from about 45-75, while I didn't pull ahead like you did, he didn't either. I think he had an after market exhaust thou, really loud!

I also had 2 rice lunches, search my posts if interested, pretty hilarious.

Keep up the good work.

If that is the new Viper design, it looks to low to be practical on the street. Maybe it is more of concept car??

If I had the money I'd get it. Heck at 500 HP and 500 ft. lbs. of torque it ain't a rice rocket it's a rocket! I do like the current design, it looked awesome as it was passing by me You guys probably think the Cobra R looks like a ricer too. I think the wings actually serve a purpose in the case of the above cars
