For those w/digital camera's
It appears to me that Peter B certainly has a camera capable of high quality pic as for a base line a 35 mm slide is suppose to be 1500 x 1500. However if you're just shooting pic to send on the web the Sony (that uses regular 3 1/2 floppy disk) has got you all beat for ease. of operation, downloading, and cost of media memory.

Ah.....just a little tip.
Flash memory is wonderful !!!!!
It is very stable and it can be used over and over a Zillion times. (there is some reuse number) Personally .... I would stay away from a Micro Drive in favor of Flash Memory.
Actually it sounds like your needs are a little backwards. Ahh... did I mention I was a professional photographer....20+ years behind the camera....blah..blah...
Almost daily people ask me about Digital Cameras.... I think there wonderful if you have a specific use for them. Most people (myself included) would be better off using there conventional 35mm Cameras. Ah...what...boo !!!!
Have we all forgot how nice it is to have prints....to show people....ya know....hold them in your hand....put them into a book called "Fond Memories" or "Ford Lightning Memories"
When I hear someone say...oh I need several 340mb Micro drives cause I wanna take a lotta pics in High res. and I'm gonna be gone for a month. And have to rely on "volatile" memory in a spinning disk the size of a quarter. And I wanna take it snowmobiling.
Heres what I do...and my suggestion.
There is a wonderful Scanner made by Hewlett Packard called "Photo Smart" It costs less than $400.00 and it scans a print up to 5''x7'' or a 35mm color slide or a 35mm negative. You can make great digital images with this scanner (probably better than most amateur digital cameras)and make these scans in a number of different file sizes. I think you can go up to 2400dpi when scanning 35mm slides/negatives. Plus the bonus is you can have real photographs to show off and keep!!!
Like I said Digital cameras have there purposes but sometimes there not that practical.

GP Kart,
Thanks for the info. Yes, I certainly see your points. I will still be keeping the 35mm camera I have been using (Pentax 90 WR). It takes umbelievably good pictures. The problem I encounter and wanted to resolve by using a digital, is that alot of times on my snowmobile or quading trips, we take jumping pictures. I take several, and think I got the person in mid flight, only to find out after developing the pictures, that it wasn't even close. I figured with the digital, I could review and then retake if necessary.
I appreciate the info about the scanners and such, I think I will be doing some research on that.

Everyone using a SmartMedia memory card should have the Olympus P330 Personal Printer. You get genuine photo-quality prints in about 2 minutes from your card, any computer-generated image (including Internet downloads) or from videotape. You can preview images on your camera LCD or even your TV. It's 9 1/2" x 11" x 3" thick and is the best $400 I've ever spent. It's great to take pictures at say a family function & give out hard copies that they can take home immediately. I bought mine at Service Merchandise but would recommend you consider the more knowledgeable people at www.cameraworld.com 1-800-CAMERA1 for a catalog.
