i saw on the boards you can fit 9005 fog lights in the lightnings with a slight modification. i picked up 9005 silverstars and i see no way how they will fit. am i missing something or doing something wrong?

 

Did you compare bulbs that were originally in the foglights? I have 9005s in my fogs but my truck is a 2001.

 

Well when the year 9005 comes around I'll be sure to tell you if those fog lights will fit on a 2000, if you can still find one in a ancient artifact museum.

 

No, these will not fit. The only way to get these to fit in there is by getting the correct 01-up foglight housing itself and installing it. People have converted them on here, so you can search to find the instructions for that. Remember, if you do switch, do not get the 01-02 fog light housings as these will fail quickly. What I mean by that is they will create heat quickly and either melt/crack the lens or brown the lens. Use the 03 up foglight housing as the center cone was removed due to heat build up. Many here have had their 01/02 housings replaced under warranty with the 03/04 housings... including me.
