My New Lightning and a few tips!!
Hi all.... newbie alert!!!
I'm not saying this is for everyone. But this is how I'm building my 2000 Lightning. Maybe... just maybe....here are a few tips that may help some new L buyers. These are things I've learned from lurking around this group, building a 98 Roush F-150 in 1997 and observations of a freinds 99L
-Try not to pay more than MSRP
-Had my dealer call me when the transporter dropped the car off to the dealership.(For Inspection)
-Get to know the guy that PDI's (Pre-Delivery Inspection) your truck.
-DO NOT MOUNT FRONT LICENCE PLATE BRACKET!!
If you have to mount the licence plate, make a mount that screws under the bumber...not on it!!
-I really hated that slideing back window(Looks like a Camping Motorhome window to me) so I had the dealer replace it with a stock Deep Tint F-150 back window before I picked it up!!!
-The Goodyear F1 tires are crap compaired to the Comp TA's both on hard leaves and turns.
So I sold the tires off the truck with 22 miles on them and mounted up new Comp TA's
-Roush Industies has many hundreds of development hours on the Lightning but for some odd reason (consumer product related issues)the suspension on the new L's is way off. So mine has an appointment with Roush West in Los Angeles CA for there Suspension package.
-Now....who is gonna help me get this Sal guy to sell me this must have Filter and chip set-up?????
-That Carbon Fiber Interior stuff looks HOT!
-My fastest car is a Truck !!!!
Thanks for all the info at this site.
Happy Easter
Robert
