Arrow Guys using the GMS Coil Packs in here....

I am thinking about getting a set. Has anyone been able to install a set and see if there is any difference yet? I know there are a few people out there that have bought some, but I haven't seen any results posted yet. What's the verdict?

Well I just took the plunge and ordered a set from Mike at LFP. I will definately post some pics and results once I have them in. I am going to throw in a new set of TR-6's and gap them a little wider when I do this. My current TR-6's are at 30. I think I will bump the gap up to about 32 or 33... What do you all think about that???

Just bought a set from LFP this afternoon myself. Awesome price BTW. If you're planning on buying these don't let this deal get away. You won't find them cheaper anywhere else.

I currently run a .028 gap but will probably try .032 at first. If it works at that gap I'll be ecstatic.

Where can I get a set of NGK BR7EF's at a good price? Does anyone know the part # for them? I want to ensure I am getting the right plugs.

Also, how much boost is safe to run on NGK TR-6's?

I received my Granatelli coil packs today from LFP. Thanks Mark for the fast service. Ordered them Tuesday afternoon and they arrived Thursday morning.

Someone had posted about their GMS coils being to long so I wanted to install mine just to see how they fit. They appear to be the same length as the stock coil packs so I assumed everything was kosher.

Well I decided to go ahead and through a new set of plugs in since I was pulling all the coils anyway. Once I had the first plug changed out I coated the first boot with dilectric grease so it would slip over the new plug easily. While pressing the coil pack onto the plug, I noticed it didnt want to seat completely down.

I pressed on it pretty hard and thought it was seated then decided to screw it down. Once I had it almost tight I heard a crack and sure enough the ear broke off the pack.

At this point I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what the problem was. Finally I took the boot off of both packs to see what the difference was and walla, I found the problem.

The GMS pack uses a stiff cable where the stock pack uses a light weight spring. The cable is apparently about 3/16" too long so when you try to bolt the pack down, the stiff cable won't let the pack seat flat to the intake.

I went ahead and installed the other 7 being careful not to tighten the coil pack screws all the way down. Just enough to hold them in place. They were all too long to bolt down completely. Hopefully GMS will address this issue. So far the truck idles fine with them but I didn't drive it since it was so late. I'll take her out tomorrow and see how she feels. I opened the plug gap from .028 to .032 so we'll see if I have any spark blowout problems.
