Question How hot does your KB get?

When I did the built engine I also installed a KB and some LT's. I know the SS LT's radiate more heat than the coated ones do, but everything under the hood is a lot hotter than it was when I was stock. Could it be the LT's radiating enough heat to make everything hotter? The engine warms up a lot faster than before and doesn't come close to over heating. I can just be cruising around for a little bit and I will stop and pop the hood and the KB is really hot. Not so hot that I can't touch it, but hot enough to where I can't put my hand on it for very long. It's just the housing that's hot. I have felt the S/C fluid and it is just warm. Is that normal? I haven't had any problems or detonation, I was just wondering...

Right. What quick is saying is that with a roots, the compression largely takes place in the manifold. With a twin screw, the compression mostly takes place in the blower itself.

But why not wrap those headers? I can't imagine installing LTs (at least non-ceramic coated ones) without wrapping them.

I have been told that wrapping headers on a DD vehicle will burn the headers up quickly.
