This truck was crazy- when was the last time you had to have the tune bring the Hp/Tq DOWN not up- that blower works GREAT, I hope to see some different combo's with it soon. Good luck with it and we will see you soon!

great..........looks and sounds good

keep us posted since I am in the market of one
I do not really want to build the block since I live in cali
I figure I can just get a SC like this and drop it in there and when smog time comes, I can just swap it ........

Whipple Fit

Odin's Wrath,
Were there any problems with clearance between the firewall and blower plenum? Seems to me I read a post on NLOC that this was a problem.

Great install and numbers!

There was a clearance problem. Well, not really a problem. A few light taps to the firewall, just above the blower on the passenger side, and it fit fine. Not even noticeable.

Odin what grade fuel are u running 91 or 93. Congradulations those are some insane numbers for just ur mods however i couldn't help but notice the upper right hand corner of the dyno sheet where it says CF: UNCORRECTED. Does that mean these are ur uncorrected #'s if that's the case wat are ur corrected/loaded #'s?

Reason i'm asking is beacuse i have a 6# and i'm thinking of getting the whipple along with some LT's but i dont want to push the stock block so much.

Those numbers on a stock block! If so it may be on death row with no potential for a pardon...Looks sweet!

I don't see where whipple offers a 3.375 pulley, only 3 and 3.25. Can you confirm? Still no boost gage?

Geezz man why did he take the RPM's so high on that stock block? And also why's the A/F all over the place? Other than that those are some great #'s. Should make for some 11.60-11.70 passes. Let us know how she performs.

We were just going or a number there. I didn't have upgraded pumps; so, we sort of ran out. It wasn't fine tuned at this power level, we pulled timing and added fuel til I upgrade the pumps. This is with 60# injectors and an SCT-2400 MAF. I am going to have it tuned at 500 hp level when I get back on the dyno with pumps. I think the stock block will handle the power just fine with the correct support mods to prevent detonation. This is not a race truck and will not be enduring the abuse some trucks do. There are guys that have made it years at this level without the big bang. It's all in the tune. If I'm wrong (And I'm not), I'll get a built engine.

The 3.375 is the pulley that comes on the blower from Whipple. The pulleys you see listed are in addition to this pulley.

93 octane.

The STD hp was 514 and the SAE was 499. This is with long tubes and high-flow cats. If you'll notice, there doesn't seem to be a problem with floating the valves at this power level either.

Oh I know you'll be fine on the stock motor as long as the tune is very good and when you do run it hard you run fuel. Should last a pretty good while. Just on the safe side I'd start saving for a built block. But hell it may be a year before she lets go. Depends on how much you race it at that power level..........The only problem your running here is that the tune can be as perfect and conservative as you can make it BUT your just gonna flat out make to much power for the rods. I did the same thing your doing. Did'nt quite make as much power with my KB on my Stock longblock but still ran quite a few 11.60's with no problems. And it was a very weak tune. Good luck with it man. Sorry for the long post.

Chad
