My opinion

Financially it makes sense, we all know SVT on the whole is a small market for Ford by opening it up and marketing the Shelby and whatever else the performance group comes up with thru all of Fords dealers is going to increase sales, period, Now with that said, I'm not really happy about them killing the program, I like owning an SVT and the exclusivity that goes with it but if Ford continues to build performance vehicles that offer the style and performance that I expect and puts a Shelby tag on it instead of SVT it's not going make me by another vehicle, I mean have you seen the new Shelby mustang or the truck in this post, I don't think many of us would throw either out of our garage. Looks sweet! If you hook it up right with a rear end and tranny, it will be quick despite <only> 430 horsepower...

Ford is hurting for money, just like GM. I think the only way at this time Ford can make speciality vehicles is to let Shelby or Saleen step in at this time.

Actually they will more than likely use a cut off wheel to make sure the door gaps are perfect. I've seen this done several times with hoods.

Makes for an awesome line!

Also metal that old needs bondo to fill in imperfections in the surface, all body shops use bondo. The good ones use it correctly.

One thing to remember here - that's 50-70 HP more than any L left the factory floor with. Yeah, it's more weight, but the point is that what's offered from the factory is VERY seldom what's run on the street. How many L enthusiasts have been happy to leave their truck stock? Why should the yardstick used to measure these be any different? I think is sucks that SVT is gone too, but I have to be open to the offerings that replace it - either as future replacements or current competition.

You didnt see the cars they had picked for donors and you also didnt see th crappy metal work they had done so far. On a 200k car I would expect new sheet metal NOT a teenager going at it with a slide hammer.

Clearly everyone uses some bondo - Look at the panels in those pictures they will require GALLONS of bondo

Once again in my opinion NOT appropriate for a 200k car

In that case, I agree with you Doug. In no way is my post sticking up for that company. I was just offering some insight to the conversation in case those areas were overlooked.

I did look into the pics posted and that is some ruff sheet metal.
