Some people just can't admit they're wrong
I was getting gas tonight, (1.42 / Gal, premium would ya believe?) and some bozo told me he liked the truck, but wanted to know if it had the Lightning Engine or did I just buy the bumper and badges. I told him it was a real Lightning, and he just couldn't accept it, said "they ain't no silver Lightnings, only come in red, BLack, White..." So I said nope, '00 come in Silver and the guy goes damn near postal on me, almost on the edge of violence, who the hell do you think you are acting like it's a Lightning, when it's just an XLT F150. I show him the motor, Mr. Eaton, twin exhast, everything but the sticker and a letter from my mother and John Colleti, but the guy INSISTS that it's just a 150 with aftermarket parts. jeash....
so he gets in his S10 extreme and leaves. A few blocks up the street I catch him at a light, and if he still thinks it's a plain jane F150, he must wonder just what a REAL LIGHTNING would do. These tires just ain't gonna last long, I can tell allready.

Those things aren't cheap either. I think they run about $22k (unsure). That may sound cheap, but remember, that is one expensive S10. He could have gotten a full size truck that kind of dough.
I bet he was thinking, if thats and XLT, I wonder what the Lightning can do! Or maybe it would have been cheaper to paint the truck silver instead of getting and XLT and putting the bumber, badges, rims, tires, supercharger, exhaust, and groundeffects. I wish I would have been there for that one.
"Are you kidding me, this isn't a Lightning (point to L badge), its the new Silverado SS"
I wonder what he would have said then.
Nice kill by the way.

What do they put in the extremes and what kinda times do they run.
Got a guy who said he is getting one and wants to race. He said the extremes have a supercharged V-8 in them. Bring it on, I said to him. Then I said, they dont put V-8's in S-10's. He still thinks it comes with a sc'd v-8. Hahahahaha... Cant wait to race him

I'm amazed that you would even speak with an A$$hole like that! I would have told him to go F off really early in that conversation, and probably told him the things his mother does for me on a regular basis.

There's an outfit that puts V8's in Xtreme's just like they did on "Trucks". I would imagine that a S/C could be an option.

Before I bought my Lightning, I was looking at some other trucks (including a roush'd F150 4x4), and although looking a bit nicer then the regular ZR71, it didn't have any engine to back it up. I walked away at that point.
