Post My heart is broken!!!

I just sold my lightning.I got $100.00 more than I bought it for but I am a wreck.Im going to wait and buy a 2001 model. Please dont tell me that they are going to slow them down!!Please tell me they are going to make white for 1 more year. You are probally asking why did I sell it.There is no bad reason.I loved the truck.I just got a great time at the track and all.The truth is,I have a buisness oppertunuty so Im going with it.Im expanding my buisness. That $726 a month will come in handy. Also the extra money that I make during this 9-10 months without a lightning will more than pay for a new one so its the right thing to do.I already miss it though.

Hi Babolt,
Hi everyone,Now that my cover is blown and has been for a little while now,It is more than nice of Steve to let me stay on.Im sure he had an idea for some time now.He is not at all dumb.As you all can see,I have done my best to be ONLY productive on this board since the fall of Humpty Dumpty, aka(badasssvt). Now back to buisness.Yes,I did lose all that interest. But The way I see it,It was definatly worth my while.I AM positivly buying a 2001 in feb/march.I will be putting in my order soon as the order bank opens for 2001 model.Ya I paid interest and lost money on my upgrades.I am a dealer and I can offer this good fortune. When you invest $28,000 in a new vechicle,Drive it for 7000 miles, and then get $28000 for it 8 mos later,You can be really happy that interest is all you lose.Usually a new vechicle is the worst investment you can buy.It is just nice that these specific vechicles have great resale value.I will offer this info,By the time 2001 model year comes around,The 99 model will start to depriciate dramatically and stay around the $21-$22k for a few years before finally go down to around $18000.00 and stay.So My truck was worth the most money right now! In that sense Im happy. In another ,Im truly sad but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you concentrate on buisness,Money will come later.I hope to god they continue to make white.

Cool

Hey LQ--aka BASVT

Good Luck in your business. I can understand where your coming from, but I'd have a hard time selling the L! If there is no white in 2001, you can always paint it. As of right now, I plan on a yellow (not the reg. Ford yellow either) paint job sometime around June.

Again Good Luck!

Hey LQ, the way I see it, to have owned one for only a month is better than most people that will never own one! We will be looking for you in 2001 running around in your wheels. I do really hope the investment thing works out for you, might even pray about it for you. Be cool and let the thunders storms come.

Hey Ray/LQ:
Member me? I was one of your supporters in your former life.
Sorry you had to give up the Bolt, I almost had to do the same thing for different reasons (read the blasphemy/need help post from a week or so ago).
Will be interesting to see how what seems to be a 3 valve 5.4 will perform vs. the present 2 valve motor. Wonder if the reported 375 horsepower is as underated like the 360 on the 99/00 models.
As a by the by, what is your new business venture going to involve? Still in the car business?
Bill

I decided to sell my Lightning and motorcycle which was over $1000.00 a month to invest in more cars.Im going to be investing in Hi line cars as well as my usual econo boxes.Im also going to be buying more trucks as they are in demand.I could have done this without giving up the lightning and bike,But to me Right now I can roll over alot more money.$1000.00 a month isnt alot of money but it does become a pain when you roll cars quickly.Im not a big dealer,I do however sell 125-150 vechicles a year which is pretty well for a one man operation.I also hated using the L for a daily driver. The usual dealer just drives what he sells. My problem is Once im in it I couldnt get out of it.Im trying to put some more money behind me sort of say. Most dealers "floor plan" all of their cars.I do not.I use all my own money and save $10-15k a year in finance charges.$1000.00 isnt alot but,It is a conciderable amount while using all of your own money to run buisness. My Plan is to put down 1/2 down on the 2001.Just so you all know,I am definatly buying a new one. This money will enable me to have alot less headaches while consentrating strictly on buisness for 8-10 months. My payment will drop dramaticly as well as my interest. So the way I see it,I will be without a Lightning for a matter of months but my new lightning will be less than half the payment and a better newly redone lightning. From looking at my prior records My pocket will be about $15000.00 fatter and I will also have $15000.00 down on a newbe. For those who are on fixed incomes,This might be hard to understand. For those who are self employed They should understand and realized putting emotion aside,It is the best for me.Thanks Bill. Also thanks Steve for letting me stay on the board.
