Deleted my EGR today. I like it! **PICS**

While I was installing the L&S Oil Separator I decided to go ahead and Delete the EGR. I removed the tube and EGR valve and decided to cut the tube to reuse the bottom nut. I did the quarter thing and it worked great. No leaks. Then I removed the two EGR sensors from the bracket. I decided to keep the other two sensors (boost-bypass and barometric pressure). I just cut the rest of the bracket off and kept enough for the two sensors. I taped the two plugs from the EGR sensors together and tucked them under the power steering bracket. I capped off the one remaining vacuum tube and tucked it back behind the KB. Here are some pics of how it looks now...

Did mine a couple of months ago and love it. I still need to get around to cutting that bracket off. Man that makes it look clean!

What is the benifit of having it on there - shoving hot spent gasses back down your blower.................................

Only thing you might want to have done is remove a lil timing in the areas that the egr was providing flow.On my truck the egr is active only between 20-60 % load and 1250-3500rpm,w/ the bulk of the egr present in the mid ranges of both parameters.You might get some deto in that area,especially if your towing w/ a performance tune.And also shut off the egr system in the tune,tho I dont think it will throw a code.

EGR systems can atually provide modest fuel economy increases. As one poster noted, the range over which EGR is activated is limited and does not include wide open throttle.

Weight is the only performance issue here. Properly working EGR is a benefit on street vehicles. Of course, it is UGLY and if you want a sweet looking engine, you won't want EGR...
