Talking Couldn't have scripted a better run with a new Z28ss

Lined up with a new z28ss. I had him buy 2 lengths from stop to about 75mph when I shut her down. I slowed to 50 when he rolled up beside me. We hit it again and I had him again by 2 lengths up to 80 when I backed off. He went buy and seemed to keep that speed when I saw a police car going the other direction. I was doing 65 in a 55 so I knew he had me when he turned around. He went buy me with his yellow lights on and proceeded to pull over the ss. I wish I could have been in his car and hear him after getting beat buy a truck at the line, on the roll, and then get a ticket. Ha Ha.. Wife was with me and now knows why I enjoy this rig so much. She got beat in her 96 SHO buy a Z28, so she enjoyed it almost as much as I did.

Hey Bad Pit, My bolt has an x pipe (thanks Cobrarose) in place of the muffler and a K&N filter in stock location. Recently removed rubber hose from air box to fender. Truck does run strong. Hey Cobrarose, we do need to see how the bolt and the snake run one another. As you know I took a 99 cobra with the "fix" up to 110, and had him buy 2 lengths. I am curious how it will run yours. I will drop buy soon, will be leaving town on Wednesday. See Ya PS did you ever run that C-5 cobrarose?

shonut,
you "sure are nutz." think you can outrun an LS1 in your stock (or mostly stock) lightning? NOT!!
you probably raced some pimpley faced teen whose daddy bought him that car cause he got a B average in high school.
go to LS1.com and find some LS1 owners in your area. I'm sure you'll have no trouble setting up a race at a local drag strip with someone who actually knows how to powershift or drive it like they hate it. my car's best stock (with drag radials) is 12.9. With exhaust and lid, so far i've gotten a 12.8; better racing conditions would have netted me a 12.7.
don't think you're hot sh-t becuase you beat one F body with a poor driver. you'd be foolish to assume you can do that to all LS1's.
i love the lightning, but hate ignorant and pompous owners like yourself. your car is cool, but it ain't the "be all, end all" street brawler that you make it out to be.

Hey 2muchBS, I think you had 2much coffee this morning. Mabey you just don't know how to read. I see it that he shut down at 75, not quite a 1/4 mile speed. And it wasn't a
full of himself post like you stated. (Your post is however)
Why don't you just go away.(Make sure you go past the Ford plant on US1 to **** yourself off so you will show your superiority by going as fast as that firebird will go and lose your licence)

One of two things happened here: 1)The guy in the SS missed a gear, or just don't know how to drive. 2)you imagined this whole thing!

2much and 99hugger, Fraid not guys. I own a '99 Firebird Formula, LS1, 6M with Hurst, and a '00 L. In stock form they are closely enough matched that minor differences in driving style, individual vehicles, and/or individual runs will tell the winner. I wouldn't try to argue that one will always beat the other, even with the same driver. Bottom line, they have very comparable performance, and it makes for some great racing.

2muchpwr... 99hugger...

Since neither of you have raced an L to 75.... Be quiet! Yes I have raced a Z28 SS...

0-60: I pulled NO QUESTION!

20-80 roll: I pulled 'til 50, stayed even to 70, and he started reeling me in.

Also raced a WS6...

0-80: I got about 1/2 a length, stayed there to 60..., WS6 started reeling me in.

Also raced a modded Formula... Not sure if it was a WS6... with the same results as listed above.

Face it! The L is quicker until aerodynamics take over around 70 MPH....

How about this race between the L and the LS1....

A run from the start line to the local home entertainment store... the first one that comes back to the finish line WITH a 60" or larger big screen TV IN the vehicle wins! The loser BUYS BOTH TV's, and the winner takes all!

Hey 2much, There must be a reason you frequent this list. Maybe you can answer that. Do your homework and realize what this truck will do. Then, talk what you may.

hmmmmm, Shonut, you did a search on 4-12-00 on LS1.com? Sorry, but the "search" feature is turned off on our board. Are you making more stuff up now? You wanna see something that will haul a 60" Big Screen, LightningDammitt, take a look at my truck http://www.ford-trucks.com/pictorial...99_f250_8.html . Now that will haul a TV. But if you want to go fast, take a ride in this http://www.qsites.com/qsites/data/de...$File/side.jpg .

Anyone that would like try 1/4 mile, with a 60" television, either in the bed, trunk or on the roof, or trailered, against that ol'blue dodge in the picture, let me know.
