i've got one broken on my driver side. i've tried unsuccessfully to find one in the after market. I figured I took a rock hit. Now I'm going to the dealership with your message and try for a free one. I'll let you know what happens.

 

To those that have had their fog light covers crack, are you using the fog lights full time whenever the headlights are on? Using larger wattage bulbs?

If I am in the truck both my headlights and my fog lamps are on...I guess it's a force of habit. But unlike the guys, I have had no trouble having mine replaced *on the third drivers side cover so far* I just go in and say hey my truck has an owie, fix it and they fix it and wash it and fill the tank with gas.

WhiteLightninSVTGirl: I tried that, but then they looked under my skirt and wanted $98 for mine...er...ah...foglight that is. I assume you have some extended warranty or am I shakin' the wrong thing?

ROFL Well, first off, I don't do skirts....so you should lose yours....Now THAT didn't come out the way it was meant to. Anyhow, no extended warranty I think that I just made friends with everybody there and they are looking out for me but they are in the process of finding out the problem with those silly covers.

uh, some of use aren't lucky enuf (read beautiful) to get a dealership to do anything. Hey SVTgirl, if you could do us a huge favor, plaster (scan the actual invoice) the reciept that the dealer gives just b4 you drive away on this board, so the rest of us can take it to our dealerships & show them that we CAN get them replaced for free.

Hehe, well, I think that for all involved it is better if they are nice to me. I owned my offroad for 8 months before I was Love Lightning struck and in that time I had put 4000 miles on that truck so I realized I was slightly behind on the oil changes but nothing major, I took it in to the dealer, who, when I bought the truck cut me a check for $5.00 for gas and never did me any favors after that, and I sat there for 3 hours for an oil change only to have the guy come out and say I had completely run the oil out of the motor and that they were going to have to charge me $300.00. I damn near made him cry. I went up one side and down the other. Sometimes being a girl gets you all the breaks in the world, but sometimes it hurts you more than people realize. So I am realy lucky to be with the dealership I am with now and I am very happy. I try not to use the *girl thing* to my advantage but there are sometimes that I have no choice and as longs as the ends justifies the means.......ya know.

IT APPEARS THAT WHETHER OR NOT THESE ARE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY IS A MATTER OF INTERPRETATION. IT SEEMS TO ME EVERYONE HAS ONE OF TWO CHOICES. 1.FIND A GOOD DEALERSHIP LIKE I HAVE, OR 2. LOL I totally didn't take it that way. Bout the only thing that rubs me wrong is *Is that your boyfriends truck/car?* Geez, talk about laying scratch. That irks the hell outta me. The way I see it is this, if a guy lets the fact that I am a girl get to him, or I get prefered treatment, well, it isn't on purpose on my part. Nothing I can do about it. Right? When I posted last they had to order my new len. Before I could get in my other side cracked. No visable outside damage. I called and my guy at Ford said bring it in as he had received some in stock. Says he has heard nothing from Ford about these lens cracking. I told him I would print out this message board. I encourage you to post cracked lens to this board. You can print it and take it to your dealership for proof. If Ford does know of a problem they are keeping quiet about it, which is not unusual. Talking about it will only cost them money.
