Tires...Need Help!!
I currently have the stock Good Year F-1's p295/45ZR18's but one of them just got a nail too close to the side wall to patch but I was looking at my rear tires and see that I new new tires. I have the stock 2003 rims on my L and I was wondering besides Good Years what other tires or brands do you guys suggest that will fit my rims. I was quoted getting 4 new good year f-1's would be around 1,000 bucks. What place or website do you suggest in getting the cheapest price. I don't want to spend tooo much on my tires but I know i'm going to have to shell out some dough for them. thanks for your help
There are a bunch of posts on the while nitto vs eagle tires. Basically they are very close performance wise the F1's might have a bit of an edge on dry surface while the NT555's probably have a little bit of an edge in the rain.
You can also go with the NT555 drag radials which are 305's/45/18 toyo proxes which I believe are 295/35/18, and hankook makes a set that will fit.
I've had F1's and NT555's (which are on right now) and I liked the F1's a little better performance wise...the nittos look a lot better though IMO and protect the rim lip a lot more.

I've gone through two sets of F1's and have run Toyos for the last three years. They're no better in the dry, but better in the wet, and they've lasted a third season (the F1's gave me 2 seasons each).
Go to treadepot.com and search under 295-45-18's. The F1's are ~$220, Toyo Proxies are ~$165.

I use Tirerack.com. I believe the average price is about $225 per so your not feeling any different pain than the rest of us. Recommendation, don't wait to buy tires when you need them. People sell F1s in the classifieds quite a bit. Some of the smart guys around here grab them as soon as possible just to avoid the price sting. I am not one of those smart guys. Good luck
