Post Hoods and Other Ramblings

1. Has anyone bought the cervini ram air hood yet? How did it fit and what was the quality like?

2. Doesn't Roush make a f150 hood with the cobra style scoops? I looked everywhere for this but could only find pictures of the AAD hood.

3. What's the difference between Zaino and RainX? (Don't want to **** any zaino fans off, it just seems that they have similar properties)

Also, I had my first race in the L today. Out shopping for home theater stuff when a couple of kids in a gsx eclipse comes roaring up along side me. I wasn't sure that he wanted to race until he punched it and jumped a couple cars ahead. I thought to myself "Oh what the hell" and laid into the throttle, It took a couple seconds to catch up but then we ran into slower traffic. Then the gods smiled upon me as we both caught a red light at the next intersection. I'm sure he was telling his buddy how bad he would waste this truck at the light, so I really wanted to teach this kid a lesson. When the light turned green I kept in it until I hit 70 then I backed off to let him know that he was beat. I really can't say how many lengths I put on him because I was paying attention to the road ahead, but he did pull in behind me about 4-5 carlengths back then followed me for a couple miles until he turned off. Lightining = 1 Eclipse = 0.

UxtrulStick,

I bought the Cervini's Ram Air Hood, the quality is top notch, except for a couple of small chips which probably came from shipping. But it's very smooth, can't feel any dents or inconsistencies, and looks beautiful. Have yet to get it painted. Only thing I'm gonna have to check with Cervini's about is mine didn't have screens for the ram air intakes.

UxtrulStick, I have a AAD hood on my Roush. Roush doesn't make one. Maybe you saw my truck and thought that. Sorry if that is the case. The AAD Cobra F1 Hood look great. The install is very simple as well.

Brimstone,

You mean that the two openings in the hood are wide open? Are the hood openings actually functional (duct air into the engine compartment)? On Cervini's website the hood is shown with two rear vents, do these actually exist? Lastly, does the hood come with the necessary mounting points to mount up the wiper fluid nozzles? Thanks for your replies.

Mumbly, the AAD F1 hood does look great, I just wish that I could get one without the "hump" in the middle otherwise I'm going with the Cervini.

UxtrulStick,

Yes the two openings in the hood are wide open, but it is functional in the sense that air does flow into the engine compartment. Since I have billet grilles in the front I might look into having something like that made for the hood openings. Also the hood does come with all necessary mounting points and it's own two squirters.

Oh and I have no idea why they have that picture with the rear screened vents, no such thing.

Mike

Hi, Brimstone

I also inquired at Cervinis regarding their Ram Air Hood. It really looks great on the Lightning Truck. Unfortunately, the hood does not come with the screens. Cervinis doesn't sell the screens.

If you know where to get them, kindly post it here as I have no idea where to get the screens.

Thanks!
