Front Brakes Squealing.....
Only 21K miles on the truck. I stop like an old man (and accelerate like a kid
).
I've used the blue anti-squeal adhesive on the backside of brakes (tried spray and squeeze tube) and each work, but only for a period of time. It seems that the natural heat build-up of miles of brake usage eventually cooks the adhesive off, and the brakes start squealing. This has happened to several vehicles.
Anybody have any long-term cures for this, or recommendation on what type/brand of anti-squeal works the best (lasts the longest)?

I think I read on here once upon a time that if you go out and make a couple rapid stops that the squealing goes away.

Back to the original question: Any really good anti-squeal stuff out there?
The squealing you hear is from the pad, not the backing plate. The pads are semi-metallic and the noise can be very typical. You might try removing the pads and lightly sanding the surface to clean away build up. This is only a temporary fix usually. Machining the rotors may help some too. Hope this helps. Good luck!

This appears to be one of those problems that there is no good long-term solution.
