Thumbs down People crack me up

Here's my first, last, and only rant on this BBS:

Why is it that every slow a$$, pos car or truck gives me a hard time? It seems that no matter where I go, someone is revving their engine or squealing their tires.

Example 1: The other day, I was at a 4-way stop and a guy in a Dodge Sport (not even an R/T) with a "Mopar Performance" sticker on the winshield (ooooh!) was going in the opposite direction as me. When he got far enough into the intersection to see that I had an L, he racked off his crappy sounding exhaust and took off. Like I give a *****. What do you want me to do? Race you in reverse?

Example 2: I was sitting in the left turn lane of a major intersection here in town and a guy in a red R/T turns left in front of me. When he sees my truck, he slows down (actually, just about stopped) so he could get his tires to chirp. Again, like I give a *****. Where are these guys when I'm alone at a red light or stop sign?

Last one (I promise): I was at a stop sign when an early 30 something guy in a single cab chebby with wide tires and rims (kinda like the average HS kid's truck) pulls up next to me. He starts revving his engine and jumping, and I look over and laugh at him. Kinda gave him one of those "You're not even worth the gas money" looks and turned around to go. I wasn't even trying to mess with him, but when I left the line I heard him squeal his tires. I keep waiting for him to pass me so I can laugh at him some more, but he never does. It turns out that I was so far ahead of him that the best he could do was get on my a$$ when I slowed down to turn left. I just laughed, waved, and turned.

I guess my point/question is this:
What do these guys have to prove? Does all of this pointless crap give them a chubby? You never see guys in WS6s, SSs, or even Vettes pulling this crap. They know their cars are fast. They know my truck is fast. We all know where we fall in the pecking order. All the showing off in the world isn't going to change that. Why can't all these other jacka$$es figure that out? I don't give a ***** what you drive and neither does the girl in my passenger seat.

End of rant.

DUCK

Oh yeah. If you are reading this and are in any vehicle made by Dodge (except a Viper), don't bother me. You're not worth my time/money. Just pretend I have a V-6 (or better yet, ignore me alltogether). Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

I ma reminded of the scene in the first Indiana Jones movie.
During a chase thru a crowded market in Cairo, the crowd suddnely parts, and one Big Guy with a very fancy steak knife (riced out to look like a sword) swings the thing around, dances, and just amazes the S**T outta everyone. (metaphor for an R/T, SS454, Dak Sport, or Chevy Luv, ad infinitum...)

Indy gives us his best "ya gotta be kidding me" look, and with complete non-chalance pulls out a pistol and shoots him.
(Lightning)

Mr. "Look at my fancy knife (dodge, etc...) type guy" is dead...

End of story

they are just trying to make themselves "feel better". If they 'chirp' their tires it makes them feel like they have power & can take you on...uh just a sec...(just about feel over laughing at that one). Unfortuantly you will get it ALL the time, just ignore them.

Hey bud, bad enough just being in a "L", but ever since I put on my tag "1*BAD*TK" now they just give me the bird, and drive off. Like its my fault, or they just think I am being vain or something.

Need to change my tag to CLERGY or PRECHR?

I, too know what you guys mean. Before I got my Lightning (in a 66 chev truck), I would look around the intersections, to see what kind if cars were out, and to keep an eye out for something out of place (80 y.o grandma on a crotch rocket), and when I got my Lightning, I had to quit doing it because everyone thought I was a snob or something. I also had the occassioanl chevy show me how loud his exhaust was, and then the toyota tundra with "V8-Toy" tags. Poor guy, he was with his woman, too. I think he mis-interpreted the "Fastest import truck" with "fastest truck." I set him straight though. He also dug his hole deeper by flipping me off, which prompted another *** wuppin at the next light, you never know what drivers do to other drivers these days, thats why I got on it again. (Gotta have a reason)

Don't worry Duck, after a while they will recognize you.... Then it will get hard to get any competition... even when you WANT it.

The other day I was filling up... went in to pay... came out behind someone in a TA sitting in line behind me... I heard him say to his passenger... "there's that Lightning that blew me away last week...." When I stepped up to the truck, he came over and we talked a little... he told me about a few popular places to catch a few street races... I don't remeber them tho....

Good Luck finding something to trash at the lights....

Ca,

That's my favorite movie. Specially the wheelchair race and the rental car racing.

It is strange how people all want to race you until your next to them.

Usually I find them wanting to see what my truck can do rather than actually wanting to race.

Thats when you let on the gas pedal just enough for you to keep up with thier door, so they will never know.

(until they come across another one anyways)

Thats what I want to do to one of my friends that has a T-bird (3.8L v6). 3 races. 1st, he wins by a half car, 2nd race, same results, 3rd race, we put money down, and I rip him a new hole. He's failry ignorant of some things, but pretty cool guy.

Talking

I like to push the gas pedal just enough to stay in front and then I look over as if to say "Is that all you got?" and then I floor it and leave. I did this to a 1500 that was tailgating me until he got next to me and I led him up to his limiter (about 105) and then punched it. It looked like he had turned off his key. He was so embarressed he would never come back up to me even thou I slowed to 80. We must have our little jokes once in awhile and they are the joke!!!

All of the above and the proverbial question that everyone asks....

"Is that a Lightning?"

Nope....I just stuck some badges on it, ground effects, and tires....etc...etc...

Oh PBGas, that's it! I'm starting to feel like the first words out of my mouth should be "Yes, it's a Lightning."

Jenn-

Don't worry at all. The R/T's blow fat monkey nuts. They are competition for the stock Gen 1s, but that's about it. They can't even break into the 13's in the 1/4!
