Went to the Dyno Today for the initial tune

Well, I finally finished breaking in the new engine combo and I went to Excessive Motorsport today to have Chris dyno tune my truck. The very first pull, before the tuning began, it made 481/530. It was pretty lean, but Chris cleared that up. This was the best pull (last) of the day...

RWHP: 567.1
RWTQ: 580.8
Timing: 15*
Boost: 14 PSI
A/F: Somewhere around 11.6 (See Pic)

Chris was pretty impressed with the numbers considering I am still running a stock TB, Stock Plenum, PI 2400 Stall Converter, and only 14 PSI. My head/cam combo paid off. I am going to run this as my street tune and go back in a few weeks with some race fuel and a new pulley combo to get the race tune burned. This thing pulls like a ****!!!

We had a SUPER WTF moment on the second pull. Chris was all the way in it and right before he let off (6K RPM's) something popped and coolant sprayed all over the place. Larry and I looked at each other like WTF!!! I swear you could hear my stink-eye pucker. My first thought was that the engine lifted a head... But then I remembered that they used ARP head studs and that thought went away. Turns out one of the heater hoses blew off. It was because of the crappy Ford squeeze clamp that was holding it on. Larry threw a worm clamp on there, topped off the coolant, and we were good to go.

That's about it. I just thought I would share. I got some footage and will have my computer literate buddy make me a video and I will post it. Here are a few pics...

Here is a better pic of the A/F. I think his computer squeezes the image a little...

Those are unbelieveable numbers for such low boost.
Congrats. That's the kinda numbers/tests I like to see.

Could you say what heads (porting or head flow) and cam size you are running? Its nice to see someone with a well thought out combo making something very street worthy.

Thanks.

Thanks man. I am always really impressed with the work that the Excessive guys do. Not just my truck, but they do some great stuff with Gen 1 Lightnings, All kinds of Mustangs, pretty much anything Ford. Super nice guys too.

Excessive Motorsport =
