Question Arrived at the Ram?

I need some help. I called to the automated status line today to find out the status of my new L and it said that it had arrived at the "ram(?). Does anyone know what that is and where it would be be final delivery in Corpus Christi, TX?

Cool

I believe that's "the ramp", Gilbert, and I suspect that is Fordspeak for a loading dock at the RR yard, or somesuch. Basically, it means your truck has been built and is waiting to be loaded on a train and be on its way.

Well, I thought I had another week to wait on the L. I got a call from the dealer today saying it had just arrived. They verified against the VIN they had given me and it was mine. I couldn't take off from work until the following weekend, so they're going to deliver it to me. Using a a bonded (I hope) driver to drive it from Austin to CC. Will arrive on Thursday. Whooopee!!

The drive from Austin to Corpus is about 220 miles. I not worried, the salesperson said her old mom was going to drive it here and she's never had a speeding ticket. Yea right! They're probably drawing straws to see who will drive it down.
At least they're not charging me for the delivery.

You ought to let a seasoned lightning owner like me deliver it to you. It would be already brokein. All you'd need to do was change the oil and beat hell out of it! Enjoy

After the factory releases the new unit to the trains or transporters, the unit is then taken to and dropped off at the "ramp." The ramp is a large enclosure centrally located in a region of the US. Once it has arrived at the yard. It is then loaded on to a transporter and then delivered to the delivering dealership.
