Has anybody purchased an Outerwear Cover for their Airaid Filter for the Lightning?

If so, kindly advise the size for the filter that comes with the Airaid Filter Kit from F150online.

By outerware do you mean a sock for the filter only? I have not seen one and as far as the filter size, didn't see any part #'s anywhere to tell which filter it is. Maybe Steve knows?

 

Yes, it's the sock that covers the air filter and help keep away contaminants.

It's for the Airraid system being sold at F150online.

 

I've seen them called "Prefilters"

 

The manufacturer of the Airaid sells one, but they assure me that it is a waste of money unless you do a lot of off road driving, which is not something that people buy Lightnings to do. Also would be useful operating in an incredibly dusty environment.

And, I am confused about the Airaid folks comment about dusty environments, hell they are in Scottsdale, Arizona. I live in Tucson where you can wash your truck and 10 minutes later it has a nice coat of dust, and that is without even driving it! If the OuterWear ain't for here it ain't for nowhere!
