Question for those with remote starter.
Question for those with remote starter.
I just had a Ford remote starter kit installed and discovered that it will not start truck in cold weather. Tech installer thinks that because I have the Superchip flip chip, it is defeating the starters ability to adjust air/fuel on cold start. Since I switch the chip to street tune in cold weather anyway, is there any problem just unplugging the chip for the winter? Remote starter works fine as outside air temp rises. Any thoughts???
I just had one installed a couple months ago so this might be a wrong answer. It is possible you need to extend the crank time to give it a little more time to turn over. I know on mine the crank time was adjustable.
Does it just turn over and never fire? If so it's most likely the PATS defeat. I have that problem in the summer time. There was an involved thread on NLOC about 6-9 months ago about this problem.
Don't know if this is your problem or not, but search for the title "remote start advice" on NLOC
