Question Shorty Antennas?

Anyone have pics of their shorty antenna? Where is a good place to get them? The ones on ebay didn't really catch my eye.

In my opinion the cleanest look is a stocker cut down. Just remove the little ball, cut to length, replace ball. done deal and free.

I shaved mine completely. I love the way it looks but I get no radio stations. This spring I have to route it up into the windshield.

I'm going to cut mine down and get the Chrome base, i've heard of guy's using Acetone on the stock Antenna to take the Black off and it makes them look like the Emblems do after the Acetone. Has anyone here done this, or have any pic's of this done? Also i've heard that you can get a stock Navigator Antenna base at your Ford Dealership, and it's cheaper and better than the ones you see on e-Bay. Has anyone here bought one of these, and does anyone have pic's of it with the cut stock Antenna? Thanks

I bought my antenna from Pep-boys, was like 12.99, I saw while I was looking for some new floor mats. I bought the chrome base cap off of ebay for like 10 bucks, over I think the new antenna is about 18" I am not totally sure but I really like how it all turned out in the end. It basically matches the height of the cab.

Sorry for the big pic, but here it is.

This is not that good of a picture but I cut the antenna
and then used acetone to strip off the black. I put a
rubber vacuum cap, painted silver, on top of the
antenna after it was cut.

Go to pepboys or discount auto parts whichever is near. They sell a black antenna thats about 18" and it has a lil swirl in it. Cut it off just below the lil swirl and use a heating gun to remove the cap. Once removed reattach it to ur new 6-7 inch antenna which looks awesome and costs u only $5.

Got one of these on my truck....

Tried the delete nub... but did not have any stations, so I went with the shorty one from them. Nice piece. I have XM anyway, so, in this case, size REALLY didn't matter
