Cool My 00L update

Tomorrow will be one month since I took delivery of my 00L. Man this truck is alot of work; I can't stand to see it with a spec of dust on it so I use my car duster on it daily and detail it with Meguirs quick detailer almost every day.

Just put the AIM 2" drop in the rear Friday night. What a piece of cake, I couldn't believe how quick and easy it was. The truck sits very nice. Saturday installed the Bedrug, I am extremely pleased with how nice the fit and finish is. This week my Snuglid should arrive. Pulled the hitch off yesterday and I will remove the receiver portion that hangs below the bumper and reweld to the top of the assembly and fabricate my own "hideaway hitch". Still waiting on the filer assembly from Sal, I've had it on order alittle more than a month now. Tried to order the 2000 chip from his website, but there is no selection for the 2000 chip.

Going to AIM today after work to pic up the 2" shackles for YODA.

Tonight should post some pics.

Thumbs down

Jim,

Oh man, just got this post after I got back from Mesa, sorry. I don't plan on heading that direction again anytime soon. The correct PN is SHA-F09700A. The truck looks much better with back end lowered. Yeah, can't wait to see you again and this time I can show you my Lightning.

Thumbs up

LightningFreak,

That was my big concern before putting the drop on. I had posted the same question and everyone answered that the ride quality had not been affected. I experienced the same, the ride feels the same, I have not experienced any negative affects, it does, however feel like it handles better as it lowers the center of gravity. Keep this in mind, you are only changing the pivot point of the rear of the spring, you are not changing the spring rate.

As far as payload, of course it will lower the payload capacity as now you have lowered your suspension travel. How much lower the payload capacity is, I don't know.

Ha Ha! Peter B that sounds just like me, everytime while I'm warming up the L I pull out the California Duster, then I get real picky with a rag and the Meguiar's. You think you have it tough with a Red L, I have a shiny black one!

Great 1/4 mile time by the way. I'm starting to wonder if my Flowmaster is making me slower than with the stock muffler!

Hey Don,

JRW67 turned me on to Michigan Trailer Sales. I just picked up the Snuglid today after work and had them install it. The grand total was $1200; this was for the snuglid with the carpet on the underside, the bolt on bracket for the lid and the bedrug. I dealt with a guy named Jeff over there. It took exactly one month to have the snuglid come in. It took 40 minutes for the install, the whole experience was very pleasurable, they took alot of care installing the snuglid. I highly recommend them.
