Question Exhaust Mods

Seems like some have spent a small fortune replacing the exhausts on their L's but no one seems to have any claims of significant improvements justifying expenditures of over one grand. This would indicate that the stock system is reasonably free-flowing.
First, does the L have one or two mufflers? Has anyone replaced the muffler(s) with 40 series Flowmasters? Had these on my R/T and I really liked the sound. Have only heard one L and I really wasn't impressed with the sound. Any thoughts?

You hit it right on the head.I cant see getting exhaust and losing torque to get horsepower.I want loud exhaust but i cant justify 1500 on bassani.Bassani seems to be the only exhaust that gives both HPs and torque.Looks like just a stainless tip for me

Don't know what the stock dyno numbers were, but I had mine dyno-ed after the Bassani system was installed. Results were: RWHP 360, Torque 440 ft/lbs. That is with Superchip and K&N filter. If you apply the 20% rule, this would give me approx. 450 HP at the flywheel. Since then I have added a Downs filter kit, and have not had it tested since.

All I ever did was add the Edelbrock Performer muffler which fits perfectly. Nice sound 40% more flow over stock muffler and didn't cost an arm and a leg to do. Had my local muffler shop install, took them 1 hour start to finish.

Is the bassani a dual or single exit cat pipe? Meaning is it compatible with the stock muffler or 2 flowmaster mufflers. Thanks
