Build Numbers and build dates
Joe,
That was my post about the Duraliner. The ribs on the front panel are too deep to allow the bracket to seat far enough forward to situate the cover properly. The BedRug is probably my favorite add-on, can sleep on it when out fishing, saves money on motel rooms!
When I checked w/A.R.E., the only kit available was the drilled mount kit. They may have a clamp on kit, but they didn't have it at the time I was looking.
I still think the flat profile of the SnugLid goes better w/the lines of the truck, but to each his own. The A.R.E. is certainly attractive, and well made.
If anyone is interested, I have a line on lexan foglight covers for our trucks. They are available in clear and smoke and I can get them for $38.00 plus shipping. It took me almost 3 months to find this source, these particular lights are found only on Mustangs and now on the Lightnings, so there hasn't been enough market for the OEM's to really care much about producing them. I would rather pay the $38.00 for covers than have to replace the lights (the whole light, not just the lens) at $118.00 each. I am not doing this on a profit basis, your cost is the same as my cost.

Re A.R.E. lids:
They make both types. The version I have (and the one that most people opt for) is the LSII Series, which attaches on the inside edge of the bed rails via 4 very heavy duty billet aluminum C-clamps. No holes are drilled in your truck. Like most folks, this is one of the things I like about A.R.E.
The other A.R.E. version is called the LoPro and it does require drilling holes.

I just called SVT to inquire about my build number again. He said they were still waiting on information from Oakville and that they hoped to get certificates out in November.

Welcome to the family, Michael!
How many miles were showing when you picked up your new Lightning from the dealer? Reason I ask is that I was told by SVT that the first 200 or so Lightnings were road tested more extensively than later build #'s (20+ miles instead of 5+)and were then returned to the production line to do additional fine tuning of various components. So, your early build just may be in better shape than some of our later ones, at least in so far as some of the minor glitches some of us have experienced.
