Had a blast ......no other Lightnings but about 300 cars. Beat a Dodge RT first run. Got ate by a '67 Cuda the second run. Sears Point....lots of wind (maybe 15-20mph). 13.25/101. Isnt that mph low for the time? Could it have been the wind, or 4:10's plus the 26" drag radials making the gearing too tall? Can't wait to do it again.

Calightnin,
Did you happen to note the r.p.m. that you were turning through the traps? With the 3.55`s and 26" Drag T/A`s I am around 4500r.p.m. IMOP the trap speed seems fine, seems as if you were getting good traction. What is the alttitude at Sears point?

Sorry spiro I didn't notice the rpms. The track is almost at sea level. Traction felt good.

 

I`m not sure on how the math works, but I remember in an old post that with the 3.55 and 26" tires the ratio works out to a 3.89.

Not to go off topic, but I notice in your sig. that you have the Bassani system are you happy with it? The reason I ask is I recieved mine today,And I`m starting the install in the morning.

Spiro, yes but in addition to the 26" tires I'm running 4:10's ..so im at like 4:40. I am concerned that this may be too tall. If that is possible. As for the Bassani. The truck is faster than it was but it is hard to know what has added the quickness. Of all the things I have done the only real "feel it in the seat of the pants" changes are the chip, and the gears. The Bassani hardware is very well done. Everything fits. It is a bit loud for my taste, but everyone else loves the sound.

 

Hey Cal, Sal here. On your PSP Chip, did you have me calibrate it for the 4.10s? If not, your shifting will be off and can effect your times and trap speeds. If you had a good headwind, that will effect your MPHs. Three weeks ago, I ran against a 20mph headwind, and couldn't break a 100mph trap speed. This past weeked, no wind, same mods, 104mph trap speed

Yes Sal you calibrated it for 4:10's. Besides the wind my biggest problem was getting the drag radials to stick.
