Just got back from the Fun Ford Weekend in
Bradenton Fla. And spot seven different
Lighnings. But none with a F150 sticker.
Look like 4 of them were doing the Drags,
1 was just hanging out and 2 were used for
towing there drag cars (mustangs). Got
some pic in the cam. Should have them back
Monday. If anyone wants, I will scan some of them. One guy had a handmade "whale-tale"
and it look good. He also had the new 5.4
head Ford Motor Sports sells (bigger valves).
SVT had the Trailor there and I talk to them
for an hour. Got a new L-2000 brochure. The
back of it says 140 top speed, etc....

I'd like more info on the new heads. Are these the navigator heads or just larger valves in the existing 2V/cyl design? Were there any packaging issues?

Nathan; The new 5.4 head were too new for the 2000 catalog. The FMS 4.6 head are
go for 35hp more, so the 5.4 are about the same. This guy had them also ported. I
think his best was 12.8... 108. They look
the same, but just have rev porting and
bigger valves. Wish I could get the wife to think they were for her. Naaa. Seeee'ya.

I had a chance also to get down to Bradenton on Friday when the gates opened. Met a couple of other Lightning owners during the test and tune. I think I saw a total of 5 or six there.
Everybody was busy trying to lightnen up and pack with ice to beat their last time, so it was kinda hard to get alot of info. from them. None of them were on this board, so I gave out the address to all.

Looked like a great showing for the weekend.
