Polished intake plenum

How hard is it to polish the stock intake plenum? I have billet under the hood and want this polished to match everything else. Pics would also be nice! Thanks

It's a pain in the @ss to polish the plenum. The aluminum is full of pits from the casting.

I did my C&L plenum and tube myself...Its a pain in the a$$......Have fun sanding..I started with 110 flapper wheel(dont know what it is called) for the dremel. Then went with the palm sander 200 grit,400 grit,600 grit,800 grit,1000 grit,1500 grit wet sand and then 2000 grit wet sand. Then mothers polish...

I would have it ceramic coated. Looks at lot like polished, but also acts to reject underhood heat.

There is alot of grinding required. What most people don't understand about polishing is it 99% grinding and sanding and 1% actual polishing. It's also a VERY messy process.

My understanding is that only works if you only ceramic coat the inside of the plenum. Ceramic coating the exterior will actually retain heat coming from the blower. Which could cause the same bad effects the phenolic spacer did, blower seizing.
