L motor in a ranger???

hey i just got rid of my L. but im not comfortable racing my evo from a dig, too much wear and tear on an AWD car. im thinking i wanna stuff an L motor into something small like stripped out ranger. i like the l motor cause its factory supercharged and just more reliable in the long run. im just wondering how hard it would be to stuff an L motor, tranny, and rearend in a ranger? but im open to any sugestions. basicly im looking to get a 12 second car/truck for 5000 or under. trying to shy away from FWD cause of the torque steer. any ideas?

look up "SVT ranger thunderbolt concept" on the internet. they had to do some major stuff to get it to work. it was a ford concept that the svt team put together.it was a 2003 MY ranger, john coletti was behind it i think.

Check with Sal to see if he still has the Mustang II with a Lightning engine. I know it was for sale.

Only problem is the width of the block. I looked at putting a 5.4 in my Ranger, but too much frame altering was necessary. I wound up going with a 5.0, which pretty much dropped in.

I think it would have made a killer production vehicle. Straight from the factory with 345's in the back!!

I saw that about the 345/ 35 18's I looked on michelins site and they do not produce a regular tire in that sized they spec'ed in the article, If they did I would widen my rear rims. that would be pretty close to stock height also.
