Cool

Hi fang,

I, like you, am not about to plaster an ugly license plate on the front of my L. I checked with my local law enforcement and found that in IL the potential fine is $75.00. I'm going to go without it until I get busted, but I have heard that law enforcement in my area does not really hastle anyone for non-compliance. Hope they're right.

Later, Jake...

Talking

Be inventive. Number one, keep front plate under middle of seat where you can reach it with your right hand fast. If you think or see that you are about to be pulled over, grab it and put it on the dash.

When asked why you don't have it mounted be inventive.
1. screws in bumper keep loosening and plate has almost fallen off twice. I have a new bracket on order but it's not in yet or I'm looking for a new bracket that can be mounted securely to bumper. (soumds like you are attempting to comply)
2. I bought a custom bracket and it's at the chrome shop.
3. The bracket broke and I had to order a new one and it's not in yet.

Always be nice and polite to officer.

Never, but never, say "because it looks like crap and I'm not gonna put it on" Guarenteed ticket.

Thumbs up

Good advice noelvm. I'll give those suggestions a try, if required. Thanks!
