Lightning

Weird clunking in the front. Any ideas? (I have the washers)

All of these clunks used to drive me nuts. I found 3 different ones.

1) The clunk washer dilemma we all know about
2) The steering stops not being greased
3) The ball joints having little to no grease from the factory

You've already addressed the first two. For the 3rd, if you're still running the stock ball joints(no grease fittings), you'll need a needle fitting for your grease gun. This will allow you to poke through the rubber boots on the joints and fill them with grease. If you think some of the steering linkage needs greasing, use the grease gun with needle fitting on that too.

They make a kit with a needle in it so you can inject grease into the ball joints thru the rubber. It stopped all of the clunks on my 99 for the past 5 years.

Where did you get the fitting for your's ? I need to do the same thing to mine.

We can't get a grease fitting on the bottom of the ball joint?
