Going back to stock.

How much to buy a stock lower lower pulley and a stock tune from Ford? I cannot tune what I have, no other choice. Better to play it safe than to blow up.

There should be plenty of stock lower blower pullies available from all the members here. Post a "Want To Buy" in the classifieds. As for the stock tunes, if your computer only has a chip (not reflashed) then you should be able to pull the chip and reset the computer back to stock settings.

After reading your questions again, don't know what stock pullies go for, ask the dealer. Why can't you tune the truck?

I would think you could take it in and have the dealer reflash the computer, no?

It is a preditor, I think they are great but, the last owner refuses to cooperate with me in obtaining the programer and stock pulley; for what ever reason; therefore, I cannot tune it accordingly.

It has a 4lb'er on it as well with a 91 octane tune. I read here that it would have to have a stock pulley on it when Ford put the stock tune in it. If true, this is where I'm at?

Before you give up, try getting a tune from one of the vendors here.

I'm sure someone will help you out. It's much easier than go the Ford reflash route, cause you will want to mod it later anyhow.

I agree, but I am not sure if I can buy a new Diablo and over-ride the Diablo tune w/o the stock tune being in there. From what I've read here, it can't be done. Does anyone know any different?

I had my stock computer re-flashed by SCT, and then put a SCT flip chip in there also. I haven't had a stock tune in my computer or on the chip for about 2 years now.

If I ever sell it, I'll have the dealership put the stock tune back on.

You should find out exactly what mods you have and call one of the big three vendors. I can't think of any reason why you would need a stock tune to be safe. You don't need a stock tune.

If the old owner sells the Preditor with out putting the stock tune back in the truck, the Preditor is only good for a paper weight.

Can't a dealer put the stock tune back on the truck, and then download a tune via E-mail and start all over?

I'm not sure how the predator "marries" a particular vehicle.

The dealer should be able to reset the computer on the truck, that is not the problem. The problem will be the person the buys the used Predator that is married to the truck. They will no longer help the customers out when that happens. They will offer you $50 for it on trade in.

This is all 2nd hand info, I do not have Predator. I was thinking about getting a used one local to me, but didn't. It was sold to someone out of state, and was not "unlocked". Police say its civil, and would not help. They said take them to court.

Your right, the previous owner is an azz. His predator is useless to him or anyone else as it's locked to your vehicle. Is he just trying to shake you down for the money for the predator? It could be cheaper to get it from him than paying a dealer for the reflash. Call around to some dealers, you might find one that would reflash without changing the pulley.
