Hate and Disgust

I just bought a Chevy Express 3/4 ton van. I went ahead and got a diesel, too. (Has that WHINE kind of noise!) Power everything work van. I own the joint, and decided for my personal work vehicle to go all out. This is a very nice van indeed and is light years ahead of the Ford with its 10 foot overhang (when purchased extended). I am very pleased with this purchase so far.

So, since I am single and have no help on the family income thing... I figured that I would sell the L and stick with work vehicles. Seems logical and all to concentrate building the business and all of that. (If it doesn't make money, you should not own it, sonny) Plus... right now the L is UGLY with its winter shoes on and dirty. Priced new tires and getting a rub down to sell it looking nice to somebody, you know?

But NOOOOOOO, I have to see a nice lowered blue L the other day, and decided to hell with it. $388 a month, MAYBE I can still swing that and these trucks are so damn fun. Hmmmmmmm, maybe its time for mods?

So, I hate you guys for making me keep my L.

I am disgusted that I PAID $20 to join a diesel site to get good info about my new ride. [Sure didnt do that last year when I bought a new E-150 for my first employee-now partner] But, F150online and NLOC has spoiled me into the internet forum thing for specific info, Q&A, etc. Charging a membership fee for forum access sucks, though.

If I paid off the WR450F, maybe I can afford to keep the L?? Right now I hope so. Slow SVT talks a good game on selling the L and buying a f-250, but to actually do it without being financially forced into it, I find, is a whole nuther matter.

Yup, that's crap, and not what a forum should be about to me. Seems like if everyone had to pay, them that know the answers would stay away. I mean, who want's to pay for the privelege of giving out advice?

Believe me, there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about it... but then I think about everything I want to do to the L and I say F it and spend more $$$ on it.

Mines all the way stock, and even a bit slow at that. But, it IS a very nice looking truck and fun to drive. I drive work crap all day long, and I guess I will have to stick it out till I can't make the payments or some such thing.

Like you, lately I have BEEN thinking of it being a big PIA, but?????

Plus, this ONE truck has such a good feeling when being seen in it. Know what I mean? Pull up with a trailer load of dirt bikes pulled by a Lightning.

I'm glad you like the van. I work at the GM plant that builds the Express, and worked on the Diesel Pilot program.

Thanks for the basic economics lesson. Since I own and operate websites, I understand this. However, these forums are free in the same way that radio is free; it's paid for by advertisers.

Charging a fee makes his forum like the XM Radio of forums. I hope the content is worth it!

Heres the deal. No one is forcing you to be a member here. I am not a paying member here either, but I am on another forum. Debating it is off topic and will get you nowhere quickly. If you feel it's worth it contribute... if you don't leave it be and move on. If you have something worthwhile to contribute regarding your new purchase then do it. But getting into a pissing match with the mods will only get you banned, and rightfully so. Search my user name.... you gotta know when to shut up and move on... for you the time is now.

If your comments are regarding the Diesel forum... take it there.

Its up to the webmaster to decide how to or whether to support his site.
Personally I think that there is room for all approaches.

The open - ad supported site like this that is dependant on the webmaster donating HUGE amounts of time for little or no money.

The largely open sites that ask for donations or support and in return give you additional content or capabilities. They typically have fewer rules and more civil members and fewer ads.

The closed sites that require $$ to enter. **** sites are a good example of this type of site. SVTOA used to be that way ( may still be ) they suffered because of it ... I agree that they need to have content to entice people to gamble.

The idea that people are reluctant to spend 3 or so cents a day for a site they get value from... Seems odd to me, but for years people were led to believe that all of the Internet was free.

Wow, are you talking to me? I cannot compliment F150Online as compared to other sites? Where did I get in a pissing match? Why would I get banned? Why do I have to 'shut-up'? I can't say how much I like owning a lightning? Whats the deal with you? Did I miss something?

No, my comments were not directed at you. They were directed at the poster I quoted.
