Post Torque Convertor Lockup

Spoke with Superchips today and am going to send mine in for updating and a custom program.
I do have a question, which I forgot to ask them.
I have read several threads here and elsewhere about changing the onset of lockup, particularly in the lower gears.
Question for the group is would it be doable/worthwhile to have lockup programmed out completely in the lower gears in the performance mode? Seems it adds nothing to performance and is more oriented to fuel consumption and perhaps even emissions in all but top gear.
Would like to get an opinion before I specify the custom program in it's final version.
Bill

I have 94 Lightning and have experimented with the lockup quite a bit, I taped into the PCM and have a switch mounted on the dash that lets me control the lockup whenever I please, You "new" Lightning guys "might" be able to do the same thing? If I was going to program a chip to control it, I would set it up to lock right after the 4 gear shift, This way when your cruising down the road over 45MPH or so in OD it will be locked for good mileage then when put it to the floor... Its off until your well over 100MPH, I don't think this is something that will make a big difference in performance but I doubt it would hurt and it might make everyday driving a bit more fun by letting the truck get up into the boost just a little faster, I wouldn't recommend this if you plan to tow heavy trailers with the truck though!

just my 2 cents
