Silver_2K,
Just found out about two weeks ago that i have Type 1 diabetes....i am one of them older guys (40+ category)....doc has me taking a drug called glucophage and it has brought down my blood sugar quite a bit...now i have to do my part and lose some weight and exercise...if i do this i may just get my blood sugar back to a normal level and not have a need for medicine...on another note at the same time i found out i had diabetes, i ended up getting a kidney stone....it was not a very good week for me...but after i came down from all the morphine they injected in me (ahhh, the good old days,hehe...j/k), i felt a lot better and am proud to say that after a week and a half have lost about 8 pounds....so i am on my way....YAHOO!!!!

I should probably mention this since it brought the conversation off topic a bit.

I am "not" diabetic. I was pre diabetic (Stage II Hypoglycemic, Hyperinsulinism & insulin resistant)

I have spent countless hours researching, and testing my individual reactions to all the variables, that life has to offer.

My problem along with many individuals who are on their way to becoming Type II Diabetic, can be reversed. I have begun working on this & will continue to report my results to anyone who is interested.

I will make it clear from the get go, that I don't like "most" docotors. I have seen 10 doctors, in ten years. I am 22 years old now. I was treated like a moron, and a Hypochondriac, even though my symptoms were persistant, and obvious to me.

I hope I have not offended anyone, but my experience has taught me to be self reliant, and responsible for my health. I don't leave the medical community responsible for diagnosing, and choosing my treatment.

The current doctor whom I work with is understanding, and works closely with me on my recovery, but if him & myself don't meet eye to eye on a certain treatment, then we "don't" do it.

I am head of a Hypoglycemia board at ALL Health.com currently, and anyone who has or knows someone with an insulin abnormality is welcome to come. I post often, and provide alternative information, that most doctors are uninformed off. I have even setup my own UBB, which I find will be much better then the All Health board. I will post both below:

1: All Health Hypoglycemia Forum
http://boards.allhealth.com/messages...lycemia8.html]

2: Hypoglycemia & Development UBB
http://pub9.ezboard.com/bhypoglycemiaanddevelopment

3: My reason for setting up the UBB
http://boards.allhealth.com/messages...cemia8/30.html

Check each one out, and it may possibly lead some of you to the promised land, especially if your living with someone with severe, unexplained symptoms mentally, and physically.

>I forgot to mention the weight differences between the 2000 and 1999 model years. I have seen posts where the
>2000 Lightnings weigh in around 4444 pounds, and the 1999 Lightning packs a 4670 lb punch. What gives?

Looking at www.svt.ford.com at the specs it says that the 2kL is 4670 just like the '99, but then it goes on to say, "Vehicle weight is corrected to production curb weight + 300 lbs." Duh, does that mean that yer basic truck is about 4370, and the 300 lbs. is about the weight of a full load of vehicle fluids + 1 driver?
