Question Atlanta area service HELP!

Greetings!

Checked my intercooler reservoir yesterday, and once again; EMPTY. So, it's back for service, AGAIN.

My 99 has been in twice, to 2 different dealers, for 2 of the standard problems: front end "clunk" and the Fabulous Mysterious Disappearing Intercooler Coolant. Both dealers, "could not duplicate" the problems, and therefore did nothing. (My favorite is the clunk; I can do it all day long. Clunk! Clunk!)

So, the question: any faithful readers in the Atlanta area been to a dealer that knows what a Lightning even is, let alone will read a service bulletin? I really don't feel like explaining to another service manager that "No, that's not the radiator, it's an 'Intercooler'"...

Thanks for any input,

-Jim

Heck, I'll pin the tail anytime!!

1st (Worst) was Banner Ford in Decatur. Close to the office, horrible service. Ugh, I hate that place.

2nd was Gene Evans. That's where I bought my Lightning (my 2nd from them, 1st a white '94.) At least they gave me a loaner car, and claimed to have "adjusted" the drivers-side seatbelt that doesn't always retract...

Thumbs up

Atlanta area folks might want to give Doug Lewis at FPS (Ford Performance Specialists) in Douglasville a call. He specializes more in SHO's and Mustangs but is a good resource and if he can't solve your L probs, he may be able to suggest a good service alternative. I've known Doug for 10 years. He did a lot of work on my SHO when he lived here in Orlando. Used to be a tech at a local Ford dealership. Good man.

His website is under construction but can be found at: http://www.fpsautomotive.com/ .

Jim:
I purchased mine from Jim Tidwell in Kennesaw. Four service visits indicated, to me at least, a complete lack of interest/follow-up/knowledge. May be me, but I do not go there anymore.
Have heard both good and bad about Bleakly on Thornton Rd. He is supposed to be the biggest SVT dealer in Atlanta.
I know it's a 2 hour drive, but I have heard raves about a dealer near Savannah. Do a search on Tybee on this board. He has been gone a long time now, but was the source of my info.
For all routine service and warranty related items not Lightning specific, I use Kennesaw Lincoln Mercury next door to Tidwell Ford.
They are fair, competent and enthusiastic. I have seen several other posts where folks use a Lincoln store for routine service. $21 for lube/oil/filter and a free wash ain't bad at all. Tidwell charges around $35 and no wash.
