If you want to go with a stock block i've got a shortblock from my 2000 L forsale with just under 10k miles on it, i'm selling it for $800 and that includes the crank, rods, and pistons...if your interested let me know, if not good luck with the build...i'm doing it right now and just went down to pick up my JLP block, its going to be an expensive time even doing the work myself

email is kwilt@nycap.rr.com if your interested

It always seems that these motors blow when driving 80mph and then nailing it to 125mph....I think it has something to do with the fuel management in the computer..You dont here guys at the track blowing there motors as much as on the street.I think when you nail it from a stop the computer has time to add the right amount of fuel at top end.Just my opinion..

One very important thing to think about when dumping at 80 mph. The engines that are going boom are the ones adding additional boost from the stock 8lbs.

Have you ever heard of a stock L going boom from an 80 mph stomp down?

Sure, that extra boost but not enough gas...I am running 16psi Stock bottom end.I go to the track with it but wont nail it going 80mph.... I think if you want to punch it at 80mph you have to change the fuel pressure regulator..Does not matter what size pumps you have, the stock regulator only allows 32psi..

Good point, I was running 16lbs on a KB, stock lower, 12.1 af, stock shift points, 14 degrees and I have numerous stomps at 80mph. She held tight for 12,000 miles before I sold her, on stock injectors and dual 255 pumps.

Awesome bed lid - who is the mfter?
