Angry Gas prices (rant)

Did our beneficiaries in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, etc, forget who saved them from Saddam 10+ years ago? To arbitrarily raise crude oil prices by shorting the supply is manipulating us into increasing their wealth, and decreasing ours. An agreement should,(and could)have been written at the conclusion of the Gulf War to preclude this from happening. I just returned from the Unocal 76, where 92 octane is $1.49/gallon; and this is after shopping around. Prices are expected to rise going into the summer. How do we handle this, people? No more WOT at least once per drive? Saying "sorry LS1, maybe next time"? No more taking the long way home? I'm open for suggestions, but I'm thinking that there's not a lot anyone can do to fight this. Besides, with all the mods ($) we're all doing, an extra 5 bucks a tank isn't all that much. It's just where the cash is going that bothers me. Hindsight being 20/20, we should have maintained at least some dominion over the Middle East. (end of rant) Oh yeah, I was wondering what everyone else's gas prices were...

The prices here are around $1.43 for 91 octane and that just depends on what part of the city you ae in. The L will be a major improvement for me in the gas mileage dept since my hot rod 4x4 Bronco only gets 7 miles to the gallon on a good day!!!

The prices here range from 1.44(that's where I get my 92 oct) to 1.56(most places here only have 87,89 then jump to 93/94 oct,it's a struggle to find 91/92 oct). I hear what your preachin',this is really disgusting forking out all this $$$ for gas!

One of Alaska'a state prosecutors are looking into the oil & gas mafia up there. He's very interested in knowing why Alaskaan's pay some f the nation's highest gas per gallon when Alaska itself puts an 8 cent gas tax. The oil comapnies even admitted they were pricing the gas as if it were refined in southern CA, and trucked to Alaska! The governor Tony Knowles even whole heartidly supported the Arco/ BP Amoco deal!! Thank god the federal government put a stop to that! combined, the two companies own 72 or 78% of the trans ak pipeline. Sorry I better quit before it gets nasty..

Oh, and you think you've got problems? 91 octane here in Canada is $0.77 a liter. That's about $3.08 per US gallon. My Denali, which thankfully uses 87 octane, cost up to $70.00 to fill for an average 320 mile range.

Try moving north of the border if you want to see a smoking hole in your jean pockets!

By the way, my '00 Ram Air Trans Am just arrived. Picking it up today - We just got over 2 feet of snow in the last week. Hmmm, think we'll garage that one for a bit.

Anyone want a '98 non-Ram Air Trans Am, red, 6 spd. (38,000km, 24,000mi)$18,000 US????

Well guys, I get 92 @ $1.44 from Superpumper out here in cavecreek. In town it runs anywhere from 1.45 - 1.55 very dissapointed in the recent raise. There was an artilce in our paper yesturday about the price hikes & it looks like its here to stay for the rest of the year. Im with you on the middle east thing, we (US) needs to re-take it over so WE have the oil & can control the prices!!!!

1.37 here. In Kuwait four years ago it was .27 for 101 octane. They were drag racing on the highways there.

Thumbs down

Just paid 1.57 for 93 per gallon.. ouch.. this is starting to hurt..

But better than the 2.99 to 3.50 per gallon I pay for the yamaha banshee... it only eats 110 + octane

Gas in ND is 1.61 for 92 premium. My lightning gets 13 mpg. I think I might have to drive the C5 corvette more. One day I got 37 mpg at 75 mph with the wind at my back.
