Post DJM Drop shackles??

Has anyone heard of these, I went to pick some up today and this is what they said to get, made for the lightning. The guy said for all lightnings 95 and up?? Just wondering if anyone had any knowledge on these. And is 35.50 a good price?

35 isnt bad. They arent really expensive items. I dunno about the old model and new sbeing the same but its all leaf springs. the ones for the regular f150 should be the same tho. I know they are a pain to install. I was watching the DJM kit being installed on a dodge. U have to air chisle out all the rivets that hold the stock one on which seemed like a royal pain.

btw those clear tails look dope....

Shackle for 95 Lightning and 99-2000 would not be the same...... Two different set of springs, the stock F150 shackles would be two long and will drop the Lightning a lot lower than the 2" they were designed for. Must be made for the 99-2000 Lightning or they will not work. Lightning is already lower than stock F-150. Be Careful what you buy, make sure you can take it back.

Cool

The shackles for the 95 and 99.5+ are different. They aren't very expensive, but I also think that ones for the 97+ F150 are the same as well.

You don't have to use an air chisel or anything for the shackle, just 2 bolts. You only have to remove rivets from the frame if you are replacing the hangers too for 4 inches of drop.

Hello all..

I put the 2" shackles on my 99 from AIM.. they were about 45 dollars.. they have grease fittings and took about 15 minutes to install.. I even used a 2 degree shim just to be on the safe side.. The truck rides great and now sits level..

It was also a true 2" drop.. no more no less..

Big Poppa,

Where did you get the shim. I want to get the back down on my L and this looks like the most cost effective way (for now), but also like "playing it safe" as far as keeping the pinion angle correct.

Thanks,
WM

Hello all..

I do not know the part number for the shackle from AIM.. it was the one for a regular F-150.. I know people were saying it would not work.. but it does.. they also sell the 2 degree shim..

Also.. a friend of mine lowered his truck with Western lowered A-arms.. he had some trouble with clearance.. they have redesigned the a-arms for the lightning and are sending him a set to try.. I will let you all know how it goes..
